Tour description
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Trieste at 9.30 a.m. to start an active day out which combines nature, culture and typical food in the surroundings of Trieste. We'll walk along the most evocative and breathtaking path of the whole coast of Trieste and visit the vibrant residence of the princely Torre and Tasso family before pausing for lunch at a typical agriturismo on the Carso plateau. We'll indulge in local foods, influenced by Slav and Austrian cuisine, and taste the full-bodied Terrano wine, produced from the Refosco grape grown on the karstic Terra Rossa (red soil). The afternoon will be spent pedalling along the enchanting Gemina trail which runs through some of the most picturesque areas of the Carso characterized by historical, geological and botanical elements of great interest.
